Strengthening flocks and pig herds is top priority for new NOVUS sales manager

BANGKOK, THAILAND (April 2, 2025) – Repopulation is a key strategy for the animal agriculture industry in the Philippines according to NOVUS’ new leader. Elbert G. Platon recently took the role of senior sales manager responsible for leading and managing a dynamic sales team in the country.

He says challenges like African Swine Fever and avian influenza continue to negatively impact local animal protein production.

“It’s necessary to offer solutions that promote repopulation of the swine herds and poultry flocks,” he says. “With intelligent nutrition solutions from NOVUS, we can help farmers get more from their pigs and chickens while also supporting responsible farming practices.”

With extensive experience in customer relations and strategic management, Platon is working with his team to offer products and services that support the Philippines’s diverse farming environments and help producers reach their goals.

Prior to joining NOVUS, Platon served as DSM’s head of sales for performance solutions in the Philippines. He also held positions at Sunjin and Bayer.

Platon’s career in agriculture started with his mother who served as a government agriculturist officer in Batangas. He earned a degree in agribusiness management before obtaining his master’s degree in business management at the University of the Philippines.
